Itw was truly, a its own promotional advertising put it: "the intersection of life and Faith." Catholic Family Radio was truly "talk radio" gone Catholic. It had Alan Keyes, the Catholic answer to "Conservative hambone" Rush Limbaugh. It had family psychologist Dr. Ray Garendi, the Catholic answer to "snippy Queen Solomon"(Dr. Laura.) It aired "Catholic Answers Live" against The Christian Research Institute's "Bible Answer Man." At night Drew Mariani would comment on the day and draw in the minds and hearts of young Catholics. Its talk show hosts guested clergy, bishops and popular Catholic apologists. They even covered the Pope's visit to America live.

Catholic Family Radio was a welcome alternative to its secular counterpart. It was always there for us. It was good company to keep. I know it gave my Faith new found reality. I truly believe all of our lives were better for it. And I know my feelings were mutual. Our GCI comment line still logs searches, regrets and prayers for its return, even though it's been over a year since Catholic Family Radio has been gone.

Thank you Mr. Monahan. Please know the millions you must have lost were not spent in vain.
